Before we had a lot of air coming back through the downdraft vent on our kitchen cooktop. After installing the damper there is still a very slight, but barely detectable draft. The damper stopped 99% of the draft. It was easy to install and very well made. Overall I highly recommend it.

It is a great product in reguards to installation cost and efficency. Couldn't be easier to install. Everyone should have one, never knew the original installations don't have them!! Lots of wasted heat now in the house.

Used product for new Jenn Air Gas range w/downdraft.
Prior downdraft allowed frigid air back into the house. This one does the trick seamlessly! No air infiltration whatsoever.

Was seeing a lot of heat transfer in our bathrooms,through the exhaust fans. As a trial I ordered the damper and it worked just as it was supposed to. I have two more 7" and a yet size to be ddetermined vent over the range and I will order the 3 together.
A bit pricy but in range.

Very easy to install...just open the duct and insert. Works great and stopped the terrible back draft from a kitchen stove exhaust vent that had a very poor flap door on the outside.

Before installing this damper, I had a major draft coming through my kitchen exhaust fan duct. After installation, the draft is gone and my kitchen is much warmer. This product will pay for itself 100 times over with the energy savings that I will realize. Installed in just a few minutes!

Just what I needed to complete installation of an expensive range hood that, surprisingly, came without its own damper. Slipped easily into the round transition duct and has an airtight fit. Works fine, even on lowest blower setting.

Love this thing. Got one for an exhaust fan then realized it would be perfect for a combustion air duct in my home. Slips right into a duct, comes with foam on the perimeter for a smooth fit. I finished the install with some caulking to hold it in place. Can barely hear it work. Light tension spring provides just enough resistance. Have purchased three so far. Worth the $$.

My builder didn't add a damper to the range hood so it would blow cold or warm air into the house all year. After install, no air flow unless I turn on the fan. Should have bought this 2 years ago, my heat bill would have paid for it in a month.

slips into ducting easily, i put in in some insulated flexible ducting and secured it with some plastic ties. the sprig to close the damper could be a little stronger. If there is a draft I am pretty sure it would close the damper.

Installed in upstairs exhaust fan vent (6 inch round duct) and works great to close off duct when fan is not in use. Hot air no long back flows through the fan ducts.

My customer had a lot of back draft from his Jenn-Air cooktop vent. This damper fit into the duct nicely. The springs were strong enough to hold damper closed when installed in the vertical position yet still opened easily when the blower was turned on. The unit was well made. The metal gauge was heavy enough that it doesn't deform easily. My only complaint is that the foam seal was not installed as well as I would have liked.
My customer was very happy with the result.

Extremely easy to install. Cold downdrafts have stopped. Vent motor pushes air out just fine. Worst case scenario (cooking smells in house), just turn vent motor to higher level. A great product. The only thing I might change is adding another ring of foam to ensure cold can't penetrate into living space, but I live in Buffalo and this thing has kept the cold winter outside where it belongs.

I installed the Aldes 6" Backdraft Damper in a bathroom vent duct in my home. The fine workmanship was apparent from the moment I opened the box. The damper's sensitivity to positive (outgoing) airflow was easily demonstrated by merely blowing into the 2 foot long duct. My bathroom vent fan won't have to fight to do its job. I suggest this Aldes Backdraft Damper to any home handyman or professional. I'll certainly use this product again.

I was expecting to have to separate the exhaust pipe. I was surprised to find this product that installed inside the existing flue. It took less than 5 minutes to install, and works perfectly. There is no longer hot air coming into the house when the air conditioner is running, and I expect that it will keep out the cold drafts this winter.

There were supposted to be two spot welds on each side to hold the flapper to the housing. One spot weld missed the bracket, so it only has one spot weld holding the bracket on one side.
