Tjernlund LB1 Dryer Booster Fan - Clothes dryers are often installed in areas of homes where they cannot work effectively. This is because moist air cannot effectively exit the dryer and exhaust to the outside-bogging down the entire drying process. If a dryer's exhaust duct run is over 25 equivalent feet* or the dryer is experiencing long drying time, your dryer may need a Dryer Duct Booster fan. The Dryer Duct Booster®, Model LB1, has been specifically designed to boost residential capacity clothes dryer duct exhaust velocities where dryer duct runs exceed 25 equivalent feet. Proper exhaust velocities will reduce drying times, save energy and prevent lint buildup in the dryer duct. The LB1 is controlled by an electronic Pressure Response Control (PRC) for automatic operation. The LB1 utilizes galvanized steel construction, a reverse inclined, particulate handling impeller that is guaranteed not to clog with lint and an externally mounted PSC motor for trouble-free operation. Our utility room is in the basement and the dryer is on an inside wall. the vent has three 90degree elbows and 15ft of piping. This blower has reduced dring time and has made the dryer much more efficient.

The dryer we installed the LB1 on is on the first floor of a 2 story building with the vent going to the roof. We installed it on the second floor which put it about half way between the dryer and the roof. It works well when the installation instructions are followed to a T. I missed the part where a dampered vent cap is required.[...]We installed the dampered vent cap and it started working as advertized. A plumber had bid $1500 to install a dryer booster fan. By doing it ourselves, beside the LB1, it only cost us about $20 for elbows, duct and dampered vent cap.

This fan was very easy to install. Simply and straightforward instructions - had it up and running in less than 3 hours, including the installation of a new outlet for it.

Our new dryer ran great in the old house - moved to new house with 25' long dryer vent with 4+ elbows. Drying times doubled, at least, and dryer kept blowing thermal limit switches. Installed this fan - drying times back down to 30-35 minutes - even for large loads of towels!

I recieved the product and it did not work properly but the manufacture got on board sent me the part asap.It speeded up drying time by 10 to 15 min.
