Fantech Dryer Booster Fans solve the problems caused by long duct runs on clothes dryers. How do they work? When the dryer turns on, the fan is activated by the automatic presure sensitive switch so warm, moist air is exhausted out of the house quickly. Suitable for dryer runs with up to a maximum 60 linear feet of 4" rigid duct with six elbows. The DBF 4XL features our FX4XL fan with a housing made from galvanized steel, suitable for most commercial applications. The fans can handle lengths of duct up to 60 feet and six elbows. The backward inclined blades allow lint to pass through the fan. The patented control automatically operates the booster fan whenever the dryer is running. Includes 148CFM fan, pressure switch, and mounting bracket with hardware. The Dryer Facts: When it comes to dryers, where is the perfect installation with little to no duct length? The reality which contractors and homeowners have to work with is far from perfect. A short dryer duct length is not always possible. This is where Fantech Dryer Boosters can help. Under prime conditions, residential and commercial clothes dryers should dry clothing in a timely fashion. Problems occur when dryers are connected to long runs of duct work. This is the reason why most residential dryers are located against outside walls. The exhausted air is vented directly to the outside without complicated ducting to hinder the performance of the dryer. Many dryer installations do not allow direct venting and the typical residential dryer cannot operate efficiently against the resistance created by the necessary duct work. The results are longer drying times, higher energy usage and costs, and excessive wear and tear on the dryer. Some common examples are: Basements that do not allow direct venting. Central interior located residential laundry rooms. Apartment complexes with centrally located laundering areas. Apartment complexes with individual hook-ups for dryers in each apartment. When to boost a dryer. Typical residential dryers are rated at 160cfm. However, boosting is generally needed in order to maintain a minimum airflow of 100cfm as duct length increases and bends are introduced in the duct line. Based on surveying the recommendations from dryer manufacturers, and local building codes in selected areas, dryer boosting is typically required when the duct length exceeds the following: Maximum duct length with: No bends - 25' 1 bend - 20' 2 bends - 15' 3 bends - 10' A Word on Installation... Easy! The secret is in the fully automatic pressure switch. Designed to attach inline near the booster fan the switch monitors dryer operation and will activate the fan when the dryer comes on. Preset to cycle in ten minute intervals the fan will stay on until the dryer stops. All Fantech dryer booster fans are suitable for rigid duct runs of up to 60 linear feet with a maximum of six elbows. In all installations there needs to be at least 15 linear feet of duct between the booster fan and the dryer.

This product installed in about 2 hours total. My dryer vent line is about 30 feet and has (3) 90 degree elbows in it. Average drying time before installation was 90 minutes per load. Average drying time after installation is about 50 minutes per load. So far, I am very pleased with this product.

When my in-laws heard about how efficient our dryer is since installing our booster fan, they decided that one would work for them as they have approx. 55 feet of ducting. Gramma is very happy as it reduced her drying time from 1 1/2 hours to 40 minutes. Am recommending these to everyone I know with a drying time problem

The Laundry Room is in the middle of the house so there is a long run of exhaust duct that runs thru the basement. The drying time for the clothes is way down, my wife was looking at new dryers the week before I ordered and installed the fan. Now she wasn't talked about new laundry equipment.

I went with the industrial fan (galvanized fan blades) for a few extra bucks hoping it will be something that will last. It was supposed to come in powder blue but it came unpainted but it doesn't really matter though since it is in my crawlspace. The fan cut our drying time for a typical load of laundry from 65-70 minutes to 35-40. It has shortened my wifes laundry day considerably and has made her very happy. I am thrilled with the performance of this product and wish I had purchased it years ago.

Duplex had about 17 foot dryer run with 4 four) 90 degree elbows. Dryer was very inefficient, and rapid buildup of lint in pipe. Had to use electricians snake to get a cleaning brush through when installing blower, felt like almost a lb of lint was pulled through. Upon operating blower for test, even more lint was blown through tube. Ran quietly, and powerful. Tenant happy again. Wish I knew sheet metal work better though.

I have been very satisfied with this product. Because my dryer vent run was too long, my dryer did not work well. This unit cut my drying time more than 50% and my clothes always come out dry now.
