Having bought a home several years ago, I was tired of the dryer exhausting into the attached garage through a nylon stocking. Everything metal in the garage had light rust forming from the humidity. This fan solved the problem due to the maximum duct length of 15 feet as suggested by dryer manufacturers.

The only drawback (and this was solved albeit difficult) was connection of the electrical supply to the terminal board. The design needs to be improved to allow installation of the supply without removing the terminal board.

I relocated the clothes dryer but it exceeded the electric code for venting a dryer. I installed the Fantech dryer to boost the dryer output. Installation requires a skilled DIY and takes about two hours. The booster senses when the dryer comes on and then the booster turns on automatically. My wife works for a PT company that was having problems with their residential electric dryer. They wash and dry towels pretty much all day long. They were having condensation problems, water was filling up the flex hose behind the dryer and they also were having ceiling leaks in a couple of their rooms. They had duct cleaners come out several times, usually helping for only a few days. They had their building maintenance look into the problems also, with no results.

My wife asks me if I would take a look at it. I found several minor issues, but the main problem was that the duct run (adding bends) was 47 feet to the exterior! I did some research online for booster fans, the first site that popped up was Fantech. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to try the DBF110 model and cord. I installed the fan about 15 feet away from the dryer and changed some the 90 degree bends to 45's.

Two weeks had past since I had installed the fan and hadn't heard of any problems. Just out of curiosity, I decided to check the fan and flex hose myself. Keep in mind, that before I had done anything to the system, they were removing the flex hose about every couple of days and dumping out about a quart of water!

The fan and ductwork was about 99% dry. When I removed the flex hose It was BONE dry!! I have to admit, I didn't think it would work this good. I think one of the key factors to its success is the fact that even after the dryer shuts off, the booster fan still runs for an additional 10 minutes, which helps dry the duct. I would recommend this fan to anyone having condensation problems!!!!

Had almost no flow for dryer vent because my home builder had horrible contractors work on our home. I had to pull out the old duct work because it destroyed a $1600 HE dryer by blowing out the heater core. This was due to several years of poor ventilation through the dryer vent duct work. After paying to have dryer repaired and then installed the new Fantech booster....WOW. Solved problem and now three hours per load has been reduced to like an hour and a half to two hours for all laundry to be done!!!! Recommend this company and product to anyone!

I built our house around 3 years ago and the only place to vent our dryer was about 30 feet away on the back of the house. I have lived with the dryer taking around 3 hours to dry a load of clothes (a contractor's house always gets fixed last). I installed this unit and now in about 45 minutes all dry. This is a good unit. It works properly and solves the problem of long dryer exhaust runs. I do not know why the input and output hubs fit so poorly with standard metal ducting, I had to use a lot of foil tape to seal them. the mounting bracket is too weak for the motor but by strapping it to house framing got the job done. I especially liked that Fantech and iaqsource are reachable by phone to ask questions, both are helpful.

Product arrived very quickly. Looks well designed and wasn't to difficult to install. One piece of advice on the electrical connection. If installing in overhead in a Joist cavity or in a difficult to reach spot, make all electrical connections in advance prior to physical mounting. The product uses an unconventional bus connection which uses small screws to tighten down on the Line/Common/GND wires. The screws can only be reached by extending a very small screwdriver through the Romex cable hole or by using a very small 90 degree screwdriver.

Not sure why they choose to use this type of connection. Very unusual ... and just not necessary. There are much simpler ways to terminate the line connection.

After these gymnastics, the product worked as advertised and has dramatically increased the airflow.

I bought this unit about ten years ago from a local hvac company for alot more than this price. It worked well over the years. I did not have an inline lint trap, but vacuumed the impellers a couple times a year. The only draw back to this unit is its plastic casing. The mounting screws go right into it and after years of vibration have eventually cracked it. This time I am going with a slightly less powerful galvinized model

We put a laundry in the middle of a second floor in a 3 story 100 year old house. The dryer would take 3 cycles to dry clothes and my vent pipe was constantly clogged with wet lint. We saw a Fantec dryer booster fan in a condo while o vacation and decided to try it at home. Oh! What a difference. Clothes dry in half ofi a drying cycle. The fan arrived 3 days after I ordered it and I installed it about a week later. I installed it above the laundry room in an open unconditioned area of the house. I installed it vertically to hopefully cut down on lint entrapment. It took me longer to run the electricity to the fan location than it took to install it. After I finished, I started the dryer and the fan worked perfectly. We have only ran one week of laundry through it, but it has cut the drying time in half. Especially on large loads of denim jeans and cotton towels. Very satisfied with the fan and would recommend it to anyone.

The product works breat. Our dryer duct is 24 feet long and drying our clothes took 2hrs a load. It now takes 40 min.

Installation was fairly easy. Kinda a pain fitting the duct in palce, but overall not bad. Dont waste your time paying a contractor to do it.

This install was much easier than the last on as I only had to install at end of duct run. I am using this one for our bathroom. However the run is long about 25 feet but there was only one elbow and doesnt seem to create enough back pressure to start the motor up. I added a small flap to exhaust and works fine now.

This is my second purchase of this product. The first was installed in a condo with a long run for the dryer. It has made an amazing difference in the efficiency of the dryer and could not be any more pleased with the performance. The second one I purchased was just installed as a booster for my bathroom exhaust fan with very good results. It creates a much better draft and keeps the mirrors clear no matter how long or hot a shower is taken. I also like the built in ten minute timer that allows the unit to continue running after shutting down the fan which ensures the ducts are moisture free. My only issue is that it is a little awkward to mount.

The electrical connections are poorly designed and nearly impossible to connect properly. From a safety standpoint this needs a complete redesign.

The mechanical supports require you drill into molded plastic where you choose. They should have designed dedicated support pre-drilled areas to align with the support bracket.

Once installed the unit appears to move air well.

Mounted this to an existing dryer run of about 20'. We cleaned the existing tube which had been reduced from 4" down to about 1 1/2". After installing this great unit, it started to suck even more left over lint from within the dryer. This has cut the average drying time by about 25 minutes. Drying time averages now 45 minutes down from 70plus.

This product has done the job, fantastically. After a year of my wife stating the dryer was taking 2 or 3 cycles to dry the clothes I finally looked into alternatives. I thought it may be the dryer, but we just purchased it new a year ago, so then I started researching. Our laundry room is on an interior wall so I went up in the attic and noticed the builder had run our dryer vent ~40 feet throught the attic to the other side of the house and through the roof. Dryers are only recommended to push air 15ft, which is why they are usually located on the exterior wall. Did some reasearch and found this Fantech inline booster fan. Has cut our drying time in half if not more, no more multiple cycles- even with towels. I have a family of 5 so we are washing clothes multiple times a day. Great product and I bought the booster fan that comes on with a pressure change in the line. WORD OF CAUTION: My wife had bumped the dry to far back against the wall which restricted the air flow in the flex line behind the dryer and in turn did not allow enough pressure change to kick the booster fan on. Spent 30 mintues initially trouble shooting this so make sure you flex hose behind the dryer is straight with no restriction. Once that was fixed it has worked like a champ.

The only "issue" I saw was that the diameter of the ends where you connect the duct is a metric size that is a little smaller than 4". You need to use hose clamps that tighten down to a diameter less than 4".

Anyone with a dryer vent hose longer than 10 feet can benefit considerably with this installed near the end of the exterior exhaust outlet. Dryer run time was cut in half. Used to boost a long horizontial run of dryer vent. It immediately shortened the length of dryer time (saving heat element energy). Very quiet and can only be heard when the dryer door is opened. We had a terrible condensation problem in our dryer duct. The dryer is on the second floor and the vent exhausts out the roof. We have a total of about 25 feet of duct with three bends in it. We just moved into the home this spring. The brand new dryer that we bought wasn't working well, but it was working. As soon as the cold winter months came the cold temps in the attic caused a lot of condensation in the ductwork. It all ran down and collected in the flexible duct behind the dryer. When I removed the flex duct to inspect it, there was over a gallon of water completeley blocking it. The Fantech Dryer Boosting Kit cured the problem completely. Now the dryer dries faster than it had in the summer months. I'm fairly handy, and I needed to go to [...]for some additional duct work and some supplies, but overall the install was very easy. Great item for a long exhaust run for Drier. Had a minor crack, was able to drilled a small hole ( to stop it from further cracking) used some tape to seal it.

I use one fan as a dryer booster fan in my condo and it works great. I also use another smaller unit as a ventilation fan for the bath.

The fan is easy to install, except that the electrical connections are a little difficult to make. Loosen the connector inside the fan and slide out a little in order to connect the supply lines, then screw the connector back inside the fan body. If you mount the fan horizontally, place it a little higher than the vent in order for condensation to not collect in the fan. I installed this fan in a house with about 40 ft of dryer vent line and we noticed an immediate improvement in drying time.
