With a 1.5 sone rating I was expecting a bit quieter. It's not loud, just what I think of as average. It was easy to install. It took me longer to get the old one out. The only real complaint I have is it has two 18 watt lamps and the socket will only accept 18 watt lamps. One 11 watt lamp would suit us better. One thing that would have been nice is a photo-sensor for the night light. Not expected, so I'll just install one myself.

Overall the product has worked well. The oval shaped exhaust is goofy and frankly unnecessary for this set up. The directions were absolutely pointless, and I still have no idea why this has a "night light" when there's no directions in how it works.

It has worked well in our basement bathroom and was very convenient to be made so narrow to fit in the floor joist. I'd give it a pretty good score on it's quietness too. One of the first things my wife said though is that it won't win any fashion shows or be considered an "updated" look for a bathroom.

I bought this product in particular because during a bathroom renovation, I learned the "normal" size fan box was not going to fit in my ceiling. Apparently the design of my master bathroom included the air handler for the central A/C to sit directly over the middle of the ceiling. Too boot, they used 2X4 for the ceiling! Thus your standard fan boxes which are at least 5 3/4" were never going to fit. This is the only product I could find that was less than 4" high.

Installation was a bit challenging as I had limited options and room to work, but when all was said and done it was true to size and did fit. It is rather quiet. With the doors closed you can't hear the fan running from the next room. With the shower running it's virtually invisible. I don't care for the florescent lighting, but I had limited options. I have the 100cfm version in a 40sq ft bathroom and it works great. There is never any condensation on the mirror or moisture on the walls.

As long as you are not hung up on aesthetics this fan is a solid performer, relatively easy to install and very quiet.

The installation instructions were THE most confusing I have ever read. They read something like this.....Do steps 1 to 6 in section 2 unless you answered no to question 3 then do steps 7 and 8 in section 5 omitting step 6 if you like the color blue or are the eldest son of a carpenter then go back to section 1 and do steps 9 to 14.
