Designed to fit 2" x 4" joists or larger, this low-profile fan doesn't sacrifice performance for size. This ventallation fan utilizes a 4" ovalled duct for those areas where a smaller duct is necessary. So Quiet You Might Not Know it's On This WhisperFitT fan features a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. A small wheel turning very fast will create more noise than a large wheel turning more slowly for a given airflow. Our fan uses a wide blower wheel that moves a large amount of air at reduced RPMs. The blower wheel is also designed to draw air in from both sides, which helps keep the noise down, as there is more area for the air to enter the wheel. In fact, it is quiet enough that you might not even know it's on. Continuous, Trouble-free Operation for Many Years This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years thanks in part to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. Also, since heat is always detrimental to motor life (the cooler the environment, the longer the motor will last), we designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. I used this in a powder room. My wife wanted to know if this would work since it was so quiet, but once she turned it on and could feel the air movement under and around the door she was more than satisfied. Although it is larger that recommended it is a perfect choice for our use. It easily handles the odors and does it with out any distraction.

Great Experiance ordering from BathroomFanExpert.com. I order 2 Panasonic fans, one for the master bath and this one for the kids bathroom. Both fans were old and needed to be replaced. Like my review on the FV-15VQ5, the instructions are not very good for replacing and existing fan. Once I figured it out, it went fine. Only complaint is that the exhaust opening is Oblong, not round. I wanted to use rigid pipe, but because of the opening had to go with flex pipe. A little noiser than the FV-15VQ5
but much quieter than the old fan it replaced. Over all very happy with the choice

Selected this unit to remove steam and provide ventilation for a 70 sq. foot bath/vanity area. The fan is pretty quiet and seems to move air well.

Installing is a pain for two main reasons;
1) Had to remove fan body from housing to begin installation. However, once the housing is in position, replacing the body is tricky. Great engineering brilliance here!
2) The exhaust body sits RIGHT ON TOP of the sheetrock in the attic side. This makes it next to impossible, once the fan is installed, to properly install the duct to the fan.

When I tried to make the electrical connection, I found the screw holding the electrical access cover was frozen and could not be removed. Either a machine at the factory accidentally applied 36,000 ft. lbs. of torque, or it was spot welded in place. That was a delight to solve...

The instructions were excellent for installation. The installation of both fans went well. Would buy the product again. I bought this fan because it has a thermal break in the wiring system. A neighbor lost his house because of a faulty exhaust fan in the bathroom, according to the fire marshall.

My old bathroom fan was very noisy. I searched the Internet and noticed that many people gave good reviews for this fan. I first purchased one and installed it. However, I noticed that even though it is better than my old fan, this fan is still very noisy and not that powerful. So I gave up the idea of replacing fans in other bathrooms.

I installed it in a closet with an outside wall to evacuate outgasing from detergent and other fragrance odors from clothing. It work perfectly. The closet is next to the bedroom and the fan is silent and is on 24/7. This is a great product. I just wish it came with a plug instead of three wires.

The fan was painless to install. It replaced the original (25 year old) fan in the bathroom. A certain family member, who shall remain nameless, likes to take 20 minutes showers which used to turn the windowless bathroom into a sauna. Now with the new fan there's not a bit of fog on the mirror.

I used this quality, wall mount, quiet, ball-bearing fan to replace the cheap, noisy, sleeve-bearing squirrel wheel fan that came with my gas fireplace insert. By installing this fan in the wall next to the fireplace and using a 4"-3" reducer I ducted the air into the gas fireplace - works great with less noise.
