Extremely high quality construction, not light and "tinny" like most I have seen. Installed easily, and very solid in-place. Flexible mounting options. Extremely quiet, yet moves a lot of air. Heater works extremely well - separate fan runs on low speed until coil gets hot, then fan speeds up. Am very pleased, and would buy another in an instant if I needed one. Only downside is that the space for the wiring connection is a bit cramped.

Pre-Purchase Consideration:
My bathroom measures 5'x8'. Before purchasing this unit I considered 240V units because I'd read several reviews on various 120V products in which the reviewer indicated they turned on their 120V heater for 15 minutes and then came back to a warm bathroom. I didn't want to waste energy while waiting for the bathroom to get warm, and I wanted quick warmth. I borrowed a friend's portable heater with a similar watt and BTU rating as the FV-11VH2, and my bathroom got plenty warm. Since my bathroom is small I wanted a ceiling mounted heater, because a portable unit would be in my way, and I didn't want to see a wall mounted heater on my wall during the non-cold months of the year. I already have plenty of bathroom light, so I opted for the FV-11VH2 (since this model does not have a light).

Installation:
I installed the FV-11VH2 in an existing home (i.e., not during new home construction). I cut the hole in the bathroom ceiling from the attic, so I could ensure the hole was positioned between ceiling joists. After I cut the hole in the ceiling I had to remove the round vent attachment from the unit in order to get the unit to fit up through the hole I'd made in the bathroom ceiling. Once the unit was up through the hole I went back up into the attic to re-attach the round vent to the unit and to secure the hangers to the ceiling joists. Because my ceiling joists are on 16" centers, there was not enough room for a screw gun or screw driver to get between the unit in order to drive a screw, so I removed the bracket through which the hangers slide and flipped the hangers over the other way so the part of the hanger with the screw hole was on the outside rather than the inside. Once I flipped the three brackets there was plenty of room to drive the screws. Of course I installed a new breaker and circuit for the heater. The length of the wires coming from the unit could be a couple of inches longer, but I managed to get the wire nuts attached and get all the wires put back into the small electrical box inside the unit.

Using the FV-11VH2:
During my first two showers after installing the FV-11VH2 I used the vent and the heater simultaneously with the bathroom door closed, but the bathroom didn't stay very warm as the heat was obviously being exhausted. Now I shower without the heater, but I do use the heater as soon as I get out of the shower. I honestly turn off the heater after about five minutes because the bathroom gets so warm.

Recommendation:
I've only had the unit installed for two weeks. It's worked wonderfully as expected so far. The grill, which is the only visible portion of the unit, looks very modern. I highly recommend the FV-11VH2 for smaller sized bathrooms.

Great bathroom heater and exhaust fan. It is a bit larger than the ones you find in home improvement stores. Also, has limited configurations when putting in an existing ceiling but this can be worked around.

I installed the unit in a 150 sq foot bath with a 10 foot ceiling and both exhaust fan and heater function very well. The sliding mounting brackets worked very well when installing in ceiling joists at 24" on center and stabilized the unit securely with no vibration. This is a first class product with quiet yet powerful motors and its also quite attractive- I highly recommend it.

I turn the heater on to warm up the bathroom before I shower. Then I turn the heater off and put the fan on. Works like a charm, quiet and feels good first thing in the morning. Thanks so much for a quality product. Did I mention it is very quiet? Only drawback was I had to have an electrician put it on it's own circuit breaker but it was worth the expense.

This is a very high quality unit. It isn't the cheapest one on the market, but is well worth the price. I replaced our old bathroom fan/heater because the heating element had burned our. It was a unit that I had purchased at a big box store. Although it performed acceptably for over 10 years, it was noisy and the heat had started to discolor the plastic grill. The quality of the Panasonic unit is obviously much higher and I expect it to perform well for a long time.

This is THE FAN for your bathroom. It is all I had hoped for. My family members and friends all comment how quiet it is. But the heater is the star of this show. Now you don't have to hurry to dry off after you turn the water off for your shower. The heater works that well. And I live in Michigan. And no fog on the mirrors! I'm a little above average handyman homeowner and installed this without any issues or problems. If you are not comfortable running a 20 amp circuit you're better off hiring an electrician. The directions should be re-written though by someone who isn't a Japanese engineer. You should know also that the unit is an inch or so taller than the 6 inch ceiling joists used in many homes. I have an attic with a pull down stairs and wood floor boards. So I needed to frame over the extra height and insulate over that. Without the insulation I felt cold air seeping into the bathroom - not much, but enough that the insulation is a good idea. Overall: I highly recommend this unit - it is worth the extra money.

We chose this unit for our bathroom because our tile made installation of an in-wall heater impractical if not impossible. We also have all the lighting we need so this heater/exhaust model was perfect for our application. We installed this in place of the existing exhaust fan with the addition of a seperate electrical circuit for the heater. Connected to a thermostat, it does a great job keeping the room at a comfortable temprature. Be advised though, it will NOT work with a solid state programmable thermostat (learned this the hard way). This is mentioned in the installation instructions though it's a bit obscure. I called Panasonic and they said it is compatible with any potentiometer-type thermostat. After installing a simple dial thermometer, it's working like a charm. If it could work with a programmable thermostat, I wouldn't hesitate to give it a 5-star rating.

Installed into existing ceiling. Retro fit required removing all brackets and shrouds to fit into the hole properly. Not a slam dunk if you are replacing another fan but not too difficult either. That said I absolutely love this fan. Otherwise easy to install and performs very well compared to the Broan it replaced. Recommended.

While it wasn't really a "whisper," this product is a lot quieter than my previous vent. The vent really draws out a lot of air for that amount of sound. The heater is amazing and turned a cold bathroom into a warm environment in a matter of seconds. It's a bit large, but the design is pleasing. Takes a bit of work to get this baby into the ceiling, although not terribly complicated. Have an assistant work with you. Price is well worth the value.

This fan works great. No more humidity in the bathroom after taking a shower. One caveat, after installing the fan, it did make a lot of noise. I noticed it was coming from the motor mount to the chassis. There was one rivet and one screw on each side of the mount to bolt it down to the chassis but no screw on the far end of one side of the motor mount. This caused it to be unbalanced. After simply drilling a hole and placing a screw were it should have been, this solved the problem. Overall, the product is good.
