This is a great fan. With a depth of 8" we only had one house location this fan would fit. Its is a great fan however and I would have put it in all three baths if I had a choice. Very quiet. You only hear air movement itself. It is a little difficult to use this fan as a retrofit for an older fan just do to how they mount but it can be done (more easily if the previous fan was direct joist mounted).

I was not sure what .3 sones sounded like when i ordered the fan but comparing it to displays in hd and lowes, it's didn't really sound much quieter than 1.5 - 2.0 sones. It's not an unpleasant sound that it make with is nice.

Also it uses very little power, so little that the first timer i installed did not work correctly since there was not enough current draw.

I think the damper could have been a little better too, doesn't look like it would seal much in a back draft.

Very quiet. Make sure you don't restrict the exhaust though or it will make a whining noise. Does not include very good instructions for installations in existing homes, tailored towards new construction. Once installed it works very well and is extremely quiet.

I used 2 of these as bathroom extractor fans. They are quiet. I only wish I had used solid vent pipe rather than the accordion style Mylar plastic stuff!

The fan is super quiet. I dont know what .3 sones sounds like, but this one is close to silent. Everyone I talked to about fans recommended panasonic.

- There is no way this fan is 0.3 sones.
- I connected it using a 4" insulated duct
- Can here some whine from the AC to DC converter
- Way louder than 0.3 sones. More like 2.0 sones but still much quieter than the Broan fan it replaced which was 4.5 sones.
