We have had a lot of trouble with noise from radon fans, even ones that are outside. This fan is in the attic over our bedroom, and is, as far as any of us can tell, completely silent. Two thumbs up!

Comments about Fantech Fantech HP190 Radon Mitigation Fan for 4" Duct - HP 190:

My fan has ran none stop for three years. I am so impressed with it and it has done exactly as was needed so I bought another to have as a spare if I ever need it. I have recommended it to others. I just wish you still made the 3". My spare is a 4" which will require changes to my installation. A 3" is smaller making for a neater installation.

I received the unit in only a few days. I had it connected in about 15 minutes. The old fan was very noisy! This fan is whisper quite! it is located right outside a window in our family room. With the old one, I had to keep the window closed because of the noise. Now, with the window open, you can't even hear the fan.

exact replacement for my prior fan that may have been 12 - 13 years old. bought the house 2 years ago. Old fan always had a noticeable sound when you were inside the house. new fan is deadly silent. Very annoyed that our home inspector did not know the difference between what it sounded like and what it was SUPPOSED to sound like. We would have forced the sellers to change it.

Used for exact replacement of 10 yr. old radon control fan. Used old fittings, clamps and adapters. Easy installation and works great. All identification weathered off old fan and could not find replacement in any supply stores. Website with pictures and descriptions excellent. iaqsource.com saved me at least a $500 service call.

roof. My old fan lasted 13 years I have no doubt
this one will last as long.

Comments about Fantech Fantech HP190 Radon Mitigation Fan for 4" Duct - HP 190:

I looked at all of the specifications for Radon fans before purchasing this unit. I specifically looked at the CFM @ 1" WC, since this is the pressure that my sub slab ventilation system produces. This fan has the highest flow at this (real usable) pressure. Fan installed without a hitch. Note: for 3 wire 120VAC installs, the ground wire is not connected.

Comments about Fantech Fantech HP190 Radon Mitigation Fan for 4" Duct - HP 190:

My 2600 sq ft basement was reporting radon levels at 20 pCi/L so I needed to install a radon fan / 4" pvc vent from the basement and out the roof. After talking with the Fantech Tech Support Engineer and describing my basement and Radon levels, he recommended the Fantech HP190. I installed it 2 1/2 weeks ago and I am now only reporting 2.5 to 3 pCi/L at each end of the basement (I have 2 radon meters). I would recommend this product to anyone with a full basement with a concrete slab floor.

This fan really works well. It is very quiet and draws very well as evidenced by tests for sub-slab communication (suction across the entire basement floor). I have an approx. 2,500 sq. ft. basement slab and it pulls from across the entire slab. I am not a radon mitigation expert, but I do know enough about it that I would recommend this product to anyone that has a radon problem. I will get back with you when I get my test results after the installation of the fan.

Comments about Fantech Fantech HP190 Radon Mitigation Fan for 4" Duct - HP 190:

I probably should have purchased the rubber connectors from the fan supplier because the local hardware stores reducer for 4" to 3" PVC did not fit the fan the best. My reducer did clamp down of the fan but it could have been better. The fan is super quiet and the radon level has dropped already. I need to purge the whole basement but with below zero temp. outside I will wait. I will run a bathroom exhaust fan for an extended time to reduce the residual gas.
