[...] good product
Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
I found it difficult to clean the dryer hose and worried about it catching fire. Now no worries! It is amazing how much lint the dryer vent in the dryer does not catch (and I clean it out after each and every load). I love this product!

Secondary filter used to keep lint off of roof.

Garage use where there is no horizontal opening it works well as an interim lint trap for a vertical plumbed dryer vent
Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
This really helps with not allowing the lint to back up into the vent.
Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
Solidly built unit which was easy to install. I strongly recommend installing this unit for added security to your laundry dryer vent to prevent lint build-up in the vent line.
Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
I installed a vertical dryer vent with a rooftop outlet, so I needed a secondary lint trap. This unit is well made, fits in a small space, and works great. I placed two screws through the back of the box (behind the removable lint screen) into wood, to help support the weight of the vent stack. The pipe connections fit 4" galvanized duct perfectly, although there is a "top" and "bottom", which are not obvious.

Mounted on inside garage wall only a foot from the dryer outlet. Works great. Exhaust used to make 3 90 deg bends then 20 feet up through the roof where there was a 180 deg bend. Dry clothes in about half the time now.

Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
The trap was installed in line from a cloth dryer then on to a roof vent.
The idea was great.
The lint trap seem to be forced together,so the
finish product was out of square.
The result of being out of square is that the
screen does not fit tightly, which will let lint
blow around the screen.
I had to install masking tape on the sides of the
screen to act as a gasket.
Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
My dryer is vented through a pipe that goes up between two walls, through the attic and then the roof. I have had a problem with lint getting trapped in the roof cap which causes my dryer not to dry properly. I have installed this unit near the dryer in the pipe that goes between the two walls. It works great.

Great product, before installing I never knew how much lint escaped outside!!
Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
I've had this AMERICAN MADE product for 2-3 weeks and it works great! Lint was getting into vent at basement wall and blocking the 1/4" rodent screen mesh at outer wall. I fit this unit in between the 2 metal ducts with a total run of 8 feet and it now traps all lint that gets past the electric dryer's lint catcher.
I read in reviews where "lint drops into tube...." so I mounted mine not at true horizontal, but tipped slightly to avoid that problem.
Apparently this unit is meant for use with a booster fan for longer runs. After I had put it in I left the elbow out of the basement wall and could feel I had great flow.
Now towels, sweaters and other heavy lint producing laundry poses no blockage problem. Very easy to clean and remove lint.
Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
This lint trap can be installed inside the wall as part of the exhaust line from the dryer. All components designed for long life and affords that the exhaust line can be best kept clean of lint from the lint trap to the outside exhaust. This means cleaning is mostly limited from the dryer to the lint trap ... thus reducing the potential of a house fire by reducing excessive and dangerous lint build-up through the entire exhaust tubing assembly.

Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
This is just what I need. The dryer screen never gets all the lint so it builds up in the duct leading to a not fun clean out. Mounted on the wall at the dryer this catches the majority of the lint after the screen. I saw one used on the HGTV show Homes on Homes, contacted the HVAC company in Canada that installed it and they wanted $60 for it. I called them 3 times and they said the would call when they had one in stock but never got back to me. This price was right [...]

Comments about American Aldes American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
This lint trap has the most straightforward design of the traps I looked at. It is simple and solid. I'm handy and installed it myself. It's a retro-fit in a kneewall, in a really cramped space, but I could get at it from both sides of the drywall. It is in and working great. There are two reasons I only gave it 4 stars.
First, it is not pretty. Even a laundry room can look good, but this vent makes no attempt to look like anything but galvanized metal. Paint is a possibility, but you don't want to paint the foam strips that seal the cover.
Second, the way the screen fits the vent it traps most of the lint at the end of the tube from the dryer. That means that when you're taking the screen out to clean, the wad of trapped lint may fall back down the vent pipe. It seems like it would work fine if the screen could just be turned upside down, but it won't fit that way.
Two other things to remember...
First, there is a top and bottom to the vent. I marked the back with an "up" arrow to make sure I didn't install it upside down.
Second, it requires a bit of drywall work, because of the flanges for the vent pipe. I cut an exact fit hole the size of the box, then made two cuts down the wall, following the side lines. These were about 3.5" and cut at an angle so I could put the piece back. I scored the back of the drywall from the end of one cut to the other, and folded the piece forward. I caulked all around the edge of the vent and down the two cuts I had made in the drywall, then put the vent in, tilting it to fit the pipe flanges through, while I folded up the piece of drywall at the same time. It all just pushed into place, and I screwed it down. Oh, you need to drill your own screw holes in the vent flanges.
It took a few minutes of planning, but it all worked and the lint trap works great.

A good paint job is essential so I had to paint it myself to prevent rusting.
Would be helpful if it was designed for rough-in installation.
