Ultra-Web technology is exclusive to high-efficiency Honeywell Media Air Cleaners. Media air filters, at the microscopic level, consist of an interlocking network of fibers that appear quite porous. This porosity is necessary to allow air to pass through the unit with minimal pressure drop. The interlocking fibers of the Ultra-Web material form a web that captures particles that pass right through them. The particles are captured three different ways. Diffusion: The random trajectory of many particles, jostled by molecules, carries them directly into the path of the fiber. Impaction: Many particles are too heavy to move out of the path of a fiber, so they slam into a fiber and stick Interception: Random air current cause particles to sweep too close to a fiber, and due to molecular attraction, the fiber grabs the particle For optimum system performance, replace the filter every six months (before heating season and before cooling season). Adjust the schedule to your needs, but replace the filter at least annually.

Had electrostatic system and was seeing black dust collect at outputs. Service guy suggested this filter and going non-electric. It works AMAZINGLY well. You can see all the crude it takes out of the air and my allergy ridden son has slept so much better. Airborn dust is a thing of the past. A must have for allergy sufferers

The dimensions were correct, this Honeywell product fits my Carrier filter box as good as Carrier's filter. My local Carrier dealer doesn't carry many filters in stock. Last time they brought me a MERV8 instead of MERV10. Just 2 little numbers, but it makes all the difference in our home. Ahhhh, so nice not having to dust the t.v. everyday now. If you haven't experienced MERV10 filtering in your home, I highly recommend you give it a try.

Excellent product; actually fits the Honeywell air cleaner, unlike the generic filters which can be up to 1/2 in smaller despinte the same "nominal" measurements. Filters better than the standard MERV6 local hardware store filter.

I am still unimpressed that there still is a significant amount of air bypassing the filter inside the filter box cover; although this is a problem with the Honeywell aircleaner metal enclosure than the filter. This appears to be by (bad)design as it occurs with the specified filter -I had to shim it with dense foam to prevent the air bypass, now it works.

I was amazed at how much dirt and dust it collected after just 3 months. Quiet visible when you go to change the unit. There's an amazing amount of surface area and it really pulls things out of circulation but doesn't reduce the airflow efficiency. Everyone's allergies were better after we started using these filters. (But we have to change them every 3 months vs the recommended 6 months)

Our Honeywell electronic filters had to be changed at least every two weeks to be effective. This product works just about as well and has to be changed only twice a year.
