I like the features of this unit that most other brands don't have. Such as Auto system switchover (from Heat to Cool as needed), separately programmable fan control, and the Cycling fan feature is great (the fan runs for 10 minutes every half hour, even if the heat or cooling doesn't call for it) that keeps the air moving in the house.
Installation and initial programming can take some time, but it is worth it.
The large display can be hard to read when it is not backlit, but touching the screen at the bottom (away from buttons) will light it up.

This unit replaces an 18 year old White-Rogers ComfortSet II and has many of the same features, but updated. Installing the base is easy, but the wiring connections have been so miniaturized they are awkward to fit. Control is precise. The large display has a lot of wasted space and could be vastly improved by a brightness increase on making a setting (like the old model) since otherwise the big screen is just too dim. We will update remaining units with this one, but wish more attention had been paid to the low lumens on the screen.

Unit is very good and is holding the temperature very tightly. It was easy to install and when using the hardwire power you can leave the light on if you wish to do so. I have not had the units do anything weird like one reviewer is describing, but I did find that you have to disable the auto programming in the setup menu for it to work. You can still set up your own program but it will not follow it if this setting is not turned off. I think that is the issue for the reviewer.
I also found that you can tap it in a non-active area when in run mode so the light turns on without changing any settings.
I mainly bought it for the automatic changeover and the random circulation when no call for heat/cool.
There are 4 things that make this unit less than perfect, but it is still the best one I have found.
1) Display is harder to read than many others. especially from a downwards angle
2) You cannot program the random circulation for certain time periods only
3) Does not display filter life remaining (but does show when time for replacement)
4) Does not track run time (My previous Lux did that which is handy when on a propane tank as I get an indirect reading for the usage).
Delivery was fast and accurate. Unit was double boxed and arrived in perfect condition.

We like to control our heat during the day and night. We still have not figured out how to remove the factory program and use our own. It will hold at the temp that it is set to.

Great thermostat. Love all the settings. One suggestion - turn off the light so that it only goes on when you touch it.

Unit just randomly selects a temperature at times which could be higher or lower than the programmed temperature. Twice it has just lost the programmed schedule. At times it will randomly just start heating/cooling with total disregard for the programmed temperature. The only way to stop it is to remove it and remove the batteries. This unit just flat sucks.

This thermostat is great. The blue face is nice to look at and the multiple setting allow to you add some flexibility to the time settings. I've only had it a few months but I am very happy with it.
I have two furnaces and I bought one for each.
The shipment was fast. The price was hard to beat.

I definitely do not recommend this product. The box in which the product is packaged shows a beautiful, easy to read display. Same idea on the website. However, in reality, the display is very, very difficult to read. To get it to light up, you must touch a selection on the screen, such as temp up or down. (There is no neutral location to touch; a selection must be made.) However, since the screen is barely visible in its un-lighted state, it's very easy to hit a selection that you really didn't want to hit, which, in turn, may cause you to have to reprogram the darn thing or to otherwise figure out how to undo an unintended selection. Finally, even when the display is lighted, it's still very hard to read.
Customer service answered my one installation question.

This thermostat is used in a Community Clubhouse where control is essential. it locks out unauthorized use easily and effectively. A fine product, it looks as good as it functions.

Purchased this thermostat to replace another programmable one which I had installed several years ago. That one was purchased at a big box home improvement store and was by another well known T-stat brand so I thought I was getting a precise control. To put it short, that thermostat seemed to have a mind of it's own. By contrast, the White-Rodgers unit works perfectly. It keeps temperatures consistent and has alot of configuration options. And it looks great. My only complaint is that I didn't have a C-terminal wire so I'm only running on batteries which can't keep the blue backlight on continually. If you are looking for a programmable t-stat with alot of configuration options, this one is well worth the price. Mine is for a single stage cooling and heating(gas) system, but there is also a multi-stage model available for heat pump systems.

The programmable thermostat is very easy to use with a very large screen and an attractive blue light as a backlight. Very to easy to use and install. I have 2 in my home. The auto fan is a great feature when the system is not running very often due to mild weather.

Once you figure out what system you have, it takes less than five minutes to replace an existing thermostat. Programing is very easy, it looks cool and the touch screen controls are the way to go. It is a little pricey, but as always you get what you pay for.
