Braeburn Model 1000NC 1 Heat/1 Cool Tamper Proof Thermostat. REPLACES THE 1000TL. Programmable Version of this thermostat available! This thermostat was specifically designed to help owners/managers of "all utilities paid" apartments. A two-step setpoint limiting process insures that temp limits will stay in effect. NOTE: pressing the "reset" button on the thermostat wil NOT disable the limits you set. Temperature Limiting Example: Prevent Heat Setpoints Above 71 Degrees Prevent Cooling Setpoints Below 78 Degrees The digital non-programmable thermostat shall be a BraeburnTM model number 1000NC, 3.72" high x 4.75" wide x 1.12" deep, powered independently with either 24 Volt AC or with two "AA" Alkaline batteries (3.0 Volt DC). The thermostat shall be compatible with single stage gas, oil or electric heating or cooling systems including single stage heat pumps and 250mv - 750mv millivolt heating systems. The thermostat shall have a bright blue backlight display, adjustable temperature limits, front loading battery door and separate sub-base for trouble free installation. Temperature control range shall be between 45° and 90° F (7° and 32°C), accuracy of +/- 1° F (+/- .5° C), humidity range between 5% and 95% relative humidity. The thermostat shall include non-volatile memory to retain user settings. Thermostat shall have low battery indication and a front reset button will return user settings to default values when pressed. The thermostat can be mounted to a horizontal junction box. FEATURES: . I tried this product because of the the reviews that other people wrote. Also, I must say the price is very reasonable.I especially like the limiting feature. I set it at 68 but the tenant has the option of lowering it but not able to go beyond the upper limit. I will definitely use this unit again when it's time to upgrade my other rental units.

Installed about 5 so far. Easy and to the point programming. Tenants can not tamper with this and the savings on energy and equipment abuse will pay for itself in one or two monhts! I will buy this product again.

IT is a lifesaver. We own a fourplex and pay the heat in colorado. The tenants routinely kept the heat at 80 degrees. I set it to 74 as an upper limit to see what the savings would be. I expect good things and will likely move it to 73 degrees as a top end. Great value!

As a landlord in NH, we need to control oil costs for our renters with heat included. This very inexpensive thermostat has an option which allows us to set the exact temperature before installing on location; Was very easy to install and offers a tamper proof solution.

This unit programs both hot and cold limits. Mine is set to no lower than 78 for A/C and no higher than 65 for heat. I was stupid easy once I actually read the instructions which of course came with the unit

I bought this for my father who is just learning to use computers at the age of 68. He is having a hard time taking it all in, so I did not want to burden him with a programmable thermostat. I chose this one for its simplicity and familiar controls. It is easy to use and seems to be thermally accurate. I especially like the battery accessibility... just swing down the access door on the lower cover area and remove/replace the 2 AA batteries. This is a big plus over other units that require you to pull off the entire cotroller in order to change the batteries. Also, the display is easy to read!
