Comments about Bay Controls, LLC. BAYweb Internet Thermostat Kit - Single Stage:

We have so far bought four of these units as a test in mountain rental cabins. The goal is to provide ease of use to the occupant while having limits to temperature settings and be able to change settings when unoccupied. This device fits that bill perfectly. Very easy to install and setup. The occupant cannot by design change major system settings or schedules. Just raise or lower temps within the preset limits.

The only drawbacks I see are the mounting procedure for the wall control. The control design doesn't allow for a means to positively fasten to the wall and has the potential to get dislodged.

The web interface can be confusing on first use as the instructions do not exactly mirror what you see on the screen. There are also four modes to choose from and it wasn't clearly defined how they are different from each other.

These are minor issues that get worked out with time but overall a great product and great idea.

Comments about Bay Controls, LLC. BAYweb Internet Thermostat Kit - Single Stage:

I purchased the Bayweb thermo to install in a vacation home in the mountains. Its been in operation for about two weeks and so far I've been very satisfied. I've never installed a thermo before but had no trouble installing and setting up the system. I very much like the network capability of this model. It's great to be able to turn on the heat at my cabin before arriving, particularly at night. I also like the security features of using the motion sensor to alert me if someone enters.

The web based controls are very comprehensive. In addition to basic info on temperature there are lots of cool features such as graphs of temperature and energy use. The user interface is flexible and well layed out. While they have done a pretty good job of making it intuitive, given the nature of the system (eg, network controls and lots of options of controlling times) it will take you some time to learn how to operate it.

My one recommendation to the manufacturer is to offer an option for a wi-fi network connection. There's only an Ethernet port and it would be easier in many cases to use wireless rather than run network cable.

All in all, I have no problem recommending this product.
