Heat Recovery / Energy Recovery Ventilators

An ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) or an HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator) is a great way to fight poor indoor air quality by bringing fresh air into the home while also expelling stale air. IAQSOURCE.COM offers a great selection of HRV's and ERV's from several major manufacturers.

Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRVs)

Heat Recovery Ventilators bring fresh air into a home while expelling stale air. HRV's are usually recommended for colder climates with longer heating seasons. In the heating season the HRV's air exhange "core" transfers heat from the outgoing, stale household air to preheat the incoming, fresh air. It works the opposite way in the cooling season.

Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs)

Energy Recovery Ventilators bring in fresh air and expel stale air from a home. ERVs are typically used for warmer, more humid climates with long cooling seasons. These units use enthalpic "cores" to transfer both heat and moisture. An ERV reduces indoor humidity in the air conditioning season, and maintains a comfortable humidity level in the home in the heating season.

Fresh Air Systems / Passive Inlets

If you are looking for an efficient way to introduce fresh, outdoor air into your home - you might consider a passive fresh air inlet or a powered fresh air ventilator.
